1. A great way to learn how to work effectively with colleagues and co-workers

Many team-building activities usually require people to work together to achieve a common goal. Some tasks are straightforward but fun and entertaining while others may be a bit more complex and created to work on a specific area or need of the team.

2. Can be used anywhere (corporate events, meetings, workshops, seminars, etc)

Team-building is for any type of business and organisations as well as any kinds of team, regardless of size. At Playlor!, we have different activities that can suit different needs of different organisations as well as group size.

3. Develop and strengthen relationships among co-workers

Through the process of conquering various objectives and going through the activities together, co-workers will develop and deepen the trust among each other. It also improve their relationships and teach them how to communicate better through the activities.

4. Refresh and re-energize employees

Coming together and having fun is an excellent way to de-stress and re-energize employees who may have been stressed in the office. It takes their minds off work and allow them to be refreshed. These activities help employees to come back to work with a renewed sense of focus.

5. Good way to retain your top performers

In light of the challenging economy and tough times that many businesses may be facing, it is much more crucial than ever to invest in employee retention. A good and memorable team building event can bring about positive energy and attitude within the organisation. A better team culture will help retain employees when the economy pick up and other companies come calling and trying to poach your top performers away.

It is always a good idea if you do not have corporate team building in place at your company to get started on a program now. Contact us to get some ideas on how Playlor! can help your company get started, whether in Singapore or overseas.

Here, we share an interesting and ‘strange’ team-building activity.

Check out the course and plan your route

Load the whole team at the back of the vehicle

Put on your blindfold and drive away

Thinking of organising company team building event? Look abroad for more options. Furthermore, going overseas has a couple of benefits too.

Firstly, the cost of hotels and resorts are relatively cheaper if you are looking at the neighbouring countries around Singapore.

Secondly, the idea of going overseas feels like a holiday. That can boost the morale of the team, resulting in a happier workforce.

Show your appreciation to your staff by bringing them on an overseas trip. Save the hassle of planning for the trip by contacting us.

At Playlor!, we are able to customise and organise a team-building event for your company overseas. Contact us today.

There are many reasons why companies would choose to organise team building activities. These include improving communication, boosting morale and getting to know each other better. Team building activities should be part of any business, large or small, to encourage teamwork in the workplace. This is important because good teamwork is a key factor to a company’s success.

In this post, we will share a simple team building activity that you can use in your company to engage your employees.

Two Truths and a Lie
Time Required: 15-30 minutes

Start by having every team member secretly write down two truths about themselves and one lie on a small piece of paper – Do not reveal to anyone what you wrote down!

Once everyone is done, gather in a circle and get each team member to say out their three statements and have the group vote on which one they think is the lie.

You can play this game competitively and award points for each lie you guessed correctly. This game helps to encourage better communication in the office, as well as to get to know your coworkers better.

Sports and recreation are strong tools to bind and retain employees in any organisation. By organising such events, employees are relieved from the monotonous work and management also get an opportunity to interact and understand the employees and their families outside the context of work. It can be used to bring harmony and unity in the organisation.

You’re busy with your daily tasks in the company and having to come up with team building activities is time-consuming and stressful. Well, take the stress out, pick up the phone and drop us a call.

Contact us to get some ideas on how Playlor! can help you organise your next company event! At Playlor!, we specialise in organising team building events for our clients and we do a pretty good job too. Come speak to us and let’s try to work something out.

There are four key elements that make employee engagement successful and this is a useful checklist for any organisation who is serious about employee engagement.

Visible and empowering leadership

Engaging managers who focus on the well-being and growth of their people

Employee voice where employees reinforce and challenge views

Organisational integrity where the values of the company is seen in daily behaviours

Continuing on from our previous post on engaging your employees, we realised that improved performance and productivity is at the heart of engagement. However, employee engagement cannot be achieved by a mechanistic approach because employees can see through such attempts very quickly and they become cynical and disillusioned.

By contrast, engaged employees freely and willingly give discretionary effort, not as an ‘add on’, but as an integral part of their daily activity at work. Would you prefer having such employees?

Engaging your employees can mean the difference in attitude, behaviour and outcomes. An employee might feel pride and loyalty (attitude); be a great advocate of their company to clients, or go the extra mile to finish a piece of work (behaviour). Outcomes may include lower accident rates, higher productivity, fewer conflicts, more innovation, lower numbers leaving and reduced sickness rates.

This could mean the difference between a profitable and unprofitable company, a desirable and undesirable company. Looking after your staff is essential to build loyalty and success.
